Powerflex polyurethane bushes replace the soft rubber bushes VW fits from the factory. Rubber deflects under load and perishes with age, which is what produces vague steering, clonks over bumps and uneven tyre wear on higher-mileage vans. Polyurethane holds its shape, so geometry stays where it was set.
The range covers anti-roll bar bushes, wishbone and control arm bushes, engine and gearbox mounts, steering rack mounts and top mounts. Black Series parts are the stiffer motorsport-grade option; the standard purple series is the road-going choice most Transporter owners want.
Bushes are commonly fitted alongside suspension work, since much of the labour overlaps — if you are having coilovers or air suspension installed, doing the bushes at the same time saves stripping the same components twice.
