VW Transporter Rear 12″ Wheel Arch Sub Enclosure – 20L

Our 12″ rear wheel arch sub enclosure is designed for VW Transporter owners who want proper bass without losing valuable space in the back of the van.

This enclosure has a fixed box size and fixed internal volume of 20 litres, designed to fit neatly against the rear wheel arch for a clean OEM-style look while still giving the airspace needed for a serious subwoofer setup.

Each enclosure is built to order from 18mm birch ply and then hand covered to order. We use birch ply rather than MDF because it offers better strength, rigidity and durability, making it better suited to a quality subwoofer enclosure in a vehicle environment.

These are not generic off-the-shelf boxes. The box dimensions are fixed, but the front face is cut to suit your chosen subwoofer. This means the enclosure keeps the same external size and internal volume, while the front baffle is machined specifically for the sub you intend to use.

Because of this, we ideally need to know the exact make and model of subwoofer before the enclosure is built.

At Dav-Tec, we are genuine sound quality enthusiasts, so we would always rather match the enclosure properly to the subwoofer than just sell a box and hope for the best.

We have used a range of quality 12″ subwoofers in these enclosures, including:

• Morel PowerSlim 12

• JL Audio 12TW3

• Hertz MPS300

• Wavtech ThinPRO 12

These are examples of subwoofers we have used successfully, but due to the fixed enclosure size, your chosen subwoofer must not exceed the maximum dimensions of the JL Audio 12TW3.

Maximum Subwoofer Size

The largest subwoofer dimensions we can cut this enclosure for are based on the JL Audio 12TW3.

Your chosen subwoofer must not exceed the following dimensions:

• Maximum overall diameter: 335mm

• Maximum cut-out diameter: 281mm

• Maximum mounting depth: 89mm

If your chosen 12″ subwoofer exceeds these dimensions, it will not be suitable for this enclosure.
